Craps is a game that is played on a special purpose table that can be shared by up to 20 people. The game uses two dice. The house is represented by two dealers, a stickman and a box-man. If a player throws the dice, he or she is called a shooter. If a shooter rolls 7 or 11 during the first roll (called Come Out roll), he or she wins. If the roll is 2, 3 or 12 (called Craps), the shooter loses. If the shooter rolls any other number (4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10), this number is set as a Point. The dealer marks the point.
The next goal of the player who is a shooter is to roll the same number as the Point before he or she rolls a number 7 (called Out 7). If this is achieved, this player wins. If a 7 is rolled before the Point, the shooter loses. Until a Point or Out 7 is rolled, the Craps game is carried on and the shooter continues to roll the dice. You can also bet on the shooter.
More than a few different types of bets can be placed. For example, one of the most common bets is the Pass bet. You will need to place it on a Pass Line before the shooter rolls the first Come Out roll. If the shooter wins right away, you also win. If the shooter rolls Craps and loses, you also lose. If that the shooter doesn’t win or lose right away, you will win if the shooter rolls the Point before the Out 7 (or lose otherwise). You can also place a Don't Pass bet. This bet is a complete reverse of the Pass bet. It is placed on the Don't Pass line and you are placing a bet that the shooter will lose: throw Craps during the Come out roll or throw Out 7 before Point.
Another type of bets that you can place include Come and Don't Come bets. These bets are similar to the Pass and Don’t Pass bets described above. The only difference is the fact that Come and Don't Come bets can be placed while the game cycle is in progress. You can also place odd bets after the shooter rolls out a Point. This type of bet allows you to take odds in addition to your original bet. Odd bets provide different payouts and can be retracted during the game cycle. There are also Place Number bets (bets on a specific number before an Out 7 roll) and Proposition bets (bets on a specific number for the next roll).
