Blackjack Rules
The main goal of the blackjack is to get as many points as possible without
going over 21 points. You are playing against the dealer who represents
the house (casino). You want to get more points when the dealer. The best
result is considered 21 points on the first two cards (Ace and 10) that
the dealer gives you. You will win 1.5 to 1, unless the dealer also has
21 points on first two cards. If there is a tie, your bet is returned. If
you accumulate more then 21 point, you lose. The cards have the following
values in blackjack: cards with a value of 2 to 10 correspond to the same
number of points; Jacks, Queens and Kings correspond to 10 points; Ace corresponds
to 1 or 11 (whichever fits your needs better).
There will be up to six people by the blackjack table. The dealer uses
six or eight shuffled cards decks. First you will need to place a bet.
The dealer will give you two cards face up and will give himself two:
one hidden and one face up. If you get 21 points, you win (unless there
is a tie). If you don’t have 21 points, you can get more cards if
you would like to. You should want to get as close to 21 points as possible,
without going over. After you are done, you wait for the dealer. If he
or she has less the 17 points, the new card is drawn. Otherwise the dealer
stays. If you get more points then the dealer, you win the same amount
as you placed for your bet. If the dealer goes over 21 points, you also
win.
There are several other blackjack rules and techniques that you must
know about. If the dealer deals himself an ace as a first card, there
is a chance that he or she has a 10 as a hidden card. In this case you
can place insurance (half the bet) on your bet. If the dealer does, indeed,
have a blackjack, you get 2 to 1 win on the insurance. You can do a “Double
Down” by increasing your bet by the same amount after you get your
first two cards. You will be allowed to get only one more card in this
case. You can also surrender and lose only half of you bet. You will be
allowed to do a split when you get first two cards of the same denomination.
You may decide to separate them in two separate hands – one card
for each hand. In the case of a split you will need to place a second
bet on the second hand.
